The Columbus Blue Jackets NHL Hockey team has recently finished up there latest season, and although it ended in pure disappointment, it was definitely one of the more successful seasons.

At the beginning of the season, all fans were very excited after what the team had accomplished last year. The fans, as well as the players had high hopes going into season, as they just had the best season in franchise history last year, so they were definitely hoping for an even better season this year.

The first few weeks started out pretty solid. “It was nice to see the team performing well in the first few weeks, It really got my hopes up for what they were to accomplish come playoff time.” says olentangy orange sophomore max geiger.

The season seemed to be going well… until about early december. For the next couple months, the blue jackets went through a rough time. They had multiple losses, and there were even talks that the team might miss the playoffs! Fans were left completely confused. “This is not at all what I expected from this team this year” says olentangy orange freshman gabby mcaninch.

But things did get better after that. Towards the end of the season, the team went a nice 10 game winning streak, which ultimately clinched them a playoff spot. The team went on to play the Washington Capitals in the first round.

Unfortunately, the team did take (another) first round exit, but fans were happy that the team had a strong finish to the season, and never gave up. Both the fans, and team have even higher hopes for next season.
