In the world of business, it turns out that age truly is only a number. It is becoming more and more often that young kids and teens are entering the business world, and even starting businesses of their own.

One of the best examples of a young entrepreneur who really made it big was Ryan Kelly. He appeared on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” at just age 10. He got shark Barbara Corcoran to invest into Kelly’s Business, a dog treat bakery known as “Ry’s Ruffery”, according too https://www.cnbc.com/.../rys-ruffery-investment-on-shark-tank-almost-never-have-ha...

More and more students have also been entering the business world right here at the high school as well. One of the most popular items that students like to sell is sneakers.

“I got my inspiration to start selling sneakers because I like the designs on them. I like to be able to express myself with what I wear, and I really enjoy selling them too” junior Corbin Dyer said.

Sneakers aren’t just the only thing students like to sell. Dyer, along with other fellow students, also enjoys selling different clothing articles. Dyer first started with sneakers, but then expanded into clothing items.

A popular way that kids like to run their businesses is by reselling items. Students like to buy items online, and from others, and then resell them for a slightly higher price to make profit.

“I think it is awesome that kids are becoming entrepreneurs at young ages. I even have students in my classes who are already selling items.” business Teacher Mrs. Gellenbeck said.

Today’s modern world makes it easier than ever to communicate with possible customers when trying to run a business. Teenagers love their cell phones, which makes it easy for young entrepreneurs to sell items and negotiate sales.

“The biggest negative I see to kids becoming entrepreneurs at such a young age is it can become very difficult to juggle running a business along with school work, sports, and a social life.” Gellenbeck said.

Despite the negatives, the business world is all about taking risk, and that's what these kids have certainly been doing!

Young entrepreneurs are becoming more and more common, and quite oftenly, they are pretty successful!
